spool. — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-01
spool. is made by worried (worried.studio), the solo app studio of Kristopher Yang, the developer and publisher of record. We designed spool. to keep your creativity entirely on your device.
The short version
spool. does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
What stays on your device
- Your projects, presets, sounds, and recordings are saved locally on your device (and in your iCloud/device backups if you have those enabled by iOS).
- App settings are stored locally using the system’s standard preferences.
spool. does not send any of this anywhere. We have no servers and never receive it.
Microphone
spool. can use the microphone only when you actively start sampling or use the vocoder engine. Audio captured from the microphone is processed on your device to create samples/sounds and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. iOS will ask for your permission before the microphone is used; you can revoke it at any time in Settings.
Purchases
The one-time “Spool Pro” unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. spool. never sees your payment information. Apple’s handling of purchases is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
spool. does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date.
